So I have been one of the lucky ones to participate in the Beta Events of the upcoming MMO RIFT and let me tell you: I had a blast!

Now, for those of you that have never heard of the game, here’s a short summary:

RIFT is a next-gen Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) from the guys over at Trion Worlds and is centered around the once idyllic and peaceful world of Telara. Due to a mistake in the not so distant past, all hell breaks lose in form of “Rifts”, through which Regulos, the Devourer, tries to gain access and, well, devour everything of course!
During the struggle to keep the world safe & sane 2 Factions have emerged, each one blaming the other for the occurring Rifts. On the one side we have the Guardians, faithful believers in the Gods of Old, who despise the Defiant, Heretics the lot of them, who turned their backs against the Gods and turned towards machinery and science. The Defiant on the other hand chose not to rely on blind faith alone and mock the devout Guardians, trying to win the war through their Inventions and reserve the Gods the sole role of the Sorting Out Afterwards.
